The 3-way is a flame thrower that shoots flames forward, up, and down from the player in the [[Bionic Commando: NES|NES]] version. It only travels a 3rd of the distance of the screen, does one point of damage, and can only be fired after the previous flames dissipate. While it's a fairly weak gun it does penetrate armor and shoot through barriers making it useful for destroying vehicles. Also, because it can shoot above and below the player it is very helpful in destroying flying enemies.

The 3-way is a flame thrower that shoots flames forward, up, and down from the player in the NES version.

The 3-way is rewarded when you finish area 9.

It is required to get past the barrier of area 7, and in the Japanese version of the game, the 3-way is needed to get past the barrier in area 15.

The 3-way is actually one of the best guns to use in the meet with enemy sequences. Instead of shooting in three directions it works more like a flame thrower by shooing flames directly in front of you. The flames have the same range as the normal gun, but they're the biggest bullets in the meet with enemy sequences, as powerful as the rocket launcher, and you can have multiple bullets in the air at once. However, the bullets do not penetrate targets.

Game Boy

In the Game Boy version of the game the 3-way is called the Vulcan.
