[[Video games]] in this category are tie-ins for topics that were originally not released as video games such as films, TV shows, comic books, product branding, and the like. Tie-in games are usually made on a very tight schedule to coincide with the release of the product, resulting in a rather shoddy game which isn't very enjoyable. When I was a child, the allure of the tie-in often successfully convinced me to buy the game, but now, after being burned by so many bad tie-in games, I almost never buy or even bother trying to play them. However, occasionally a decent title is made from a tie-in. Some companies even excelled at making tie-ins like [[Capcom]].
