Young Goodman Brown is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published in 1835. The story is about a sissy Puritan who has a very black and white moral outlook on life, and while entertaining the idea of maybe doing just a little bit of evil for fun, finds out that all the people's always looked up to as moral luminaries are actually really evil.
