The Tell-Tale Heart is a short story written by Edgar Allen Poe and published in 1943. It's about a man who murders an old man because of the way the old man's eye looks, and then hides the corpse, but begins having delusions related to his crime.
Review
Good
- Nothing.
Bad
- No reason is given to why the narrator murders the old man, other than his eye, which the narrator doesn't like. I assume this was does purposely to make the narrator seem more crazy, but it just makes the violence seem even more senseless, which I don't like in fiction.
Ugly
- The story is just depressing and dark for no reason. At least with Poe's similar work, The Black Cat, he tried to impart a moral, but here it's just a story about a crazy person murdering someone else.
