The Legend of Zelda began as a humble video game in 1986, but steadily ballooned into a media empire with a series of games, television shows, manga, and much more. The universe takes place in the land of Hyrule where an elfin boy named Link must rescue the Princess Zelda from an evil sorcerer named Ganon. Each new game mixes up the universe telling a slightly different story each time.

I first experienced the series when I played the The Legend of Zelda sometime in the late 1980s. I remember being enamored with the golden cartridge and mezmorized at the huge amount of game play involved. I played the second Zelda title, but wasn't very impressed, however, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past completely entranced me. I don't care much for the route the Zelda titles have taken since they started using 3D engines, not just because of the poor visuals and camera controls of the N64 titles, but also how they've introduced lots of NPCs.
