Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is a studio album by Alanis Morissette. It was produced by Glen Ballard and Alanis Morissette, and published by Maverick Records on 1998-11-03. This is technically the fourth studio album by Alanis, but the second of her international releases.
As a teen, I despised Alanis Morissette for her grating vocals and obnoxious lyrics of her most popular songs (like One Hand In My Pocket and Ironic). Years later, I met my friend Kimberly who was a huge Alanis Morissette fan, so I decided to give Alanis a proper chance, I found that she had a lot of fantastic and deep songs, and I began enjoying her. Still only familiar with her more popular songs, I bought this album on sale and began listening to it. Hearing the first two songs, I didn't think I would like the album at all, but I stuck with it and discovered it to have some very deep songs heavy with emotion. I found out that this was my friend Kimberly's least favorite album, partially tainted because she wanted Jagged Little Pill for a gift, but her mother ended up getting her this one instead. After I told her that I really liked it, she went back and gave it a second chance and approved of it more. It has since become my favorite Alanis album.
I don't care much for the cover art, and I don't like titles that use letters as words ("Thank U" and "UR"), but I do enjoy seeing Alanis naked on the CD!
