Studio Ghibli
Studio Ghibli (株式会社スタジオジブリ [Kabushiki gaisha Sutajio Jiburi]) is a Japanese animation studio that formed in 1985-06-15 by directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata and the producer Toshio Suzuki shortly after their success with the film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. The studio has since put out several extremely popular films.

Personal
The first Studio Ghibli film I saw was Spirited Away shortly after it was released on DVD in the USA (the end of 2003). Although I was generally opposed to anime at the time, I was impressed by the film, and it caused me to seek out and watch other Studio Ghibli films. I have enjoyed most of them, although, a few are a bit too childish for me to appreciate.
