The Scholastic Corporation is a American multinational publishing company which primarily focuses on educational media. It was founded by Maurice R. Robinson in Pennsylvania on 1920-10-22. The company found success in schools by sponsoring book clubs and reading fairs. They have also worked with film companies to produce films based on several popular books.
Personal
My public school frequently distributed Scholastic catalogs to its students, and my mother bought me dozens of books through them, so a lot of my favorite early books were published or distributed by Scholastic.
