Once is a symphonic metal album by Nightwish, their fifth studio release, published 2004-06-07. The album has a much higher production value that previous Nightwish albums, employing various orchestras and choirs to give the songs a more epic scope.
After learning about the band Nightwish, I began looking for more of their work and found several songs from this album. For awhile, I was smitten with the the songs Nemo, Planet Hell, and Wish I Had an Angel, playing them on repeat over and over again. A few of the songs on the album I haven't really given a chance, and I need to go back to listen to them to properly rank them.
I own this album on CD.
The album cover uses a photograph of the William Wetmore Story sculpture, Angel of Grief. Different graphical layouts were used by different publishers.
This is the order in which I enjoy the songs from this album, and their individual song ratings.
|2||Wish I Had an Angel||8|
|5||Higher Than Hope||6|
|6||Dark Chest of Wonders||6|
|7||Ghost Love Score||5|
|10||Creek Mary's Blood||1|
|11||Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan||1|
The album's total score is 532.
