North American box art.

Metroid II: Return of Samus is a platform adventure game with a science fiction theme released by Nintendo on the Game Boy in 1991 as the second game in the Metroid series. You again play the bounty hunter Samus Aran who is now trying to wipe out the last of the remaining metroids, which has begun to mutate and spread.

Since I didn't have a Game Boy, I never played Metroid II when it came out, and I didn't even see it until years later when a friend let me play his nearly completed save game. I didn't want to ruin the game, so I only played for a few seconds, but noticed the oddity of ducking and the spider ball.

Status

I do not own this game, but have beaten it with a time of 6:20.
