My very first experience with this series was from a game of Vs. Super Mario Bros. at an arcade when I was around 5-years-old. I didn't know you were supposed to hit the question mark blocks, or that you could jump on the goombas. Suffice to say, I didn't get very far. I later saw Super Mario Bros. on my baby sitter's NES and though the game was really cool. To this day, I generally enjoy games from the Mario franchise, although they're rarely my favorites.

Mario is a Nintendo franchise that has become the biggest video game empire in history. It has spawned games, television shows, movies, comic books, even breakfast cereals.

My very first experience with this series was at an arcade when I was around six years old. There was a PlayChoice-10 cabinet with Super Mario Bros. on it. I didn't know you were supposed to hit the question mark blocks, or that you could jump on the goombas. Suffice to say, I didn't get very far. I later saw Super Mario Bros. on my baby sitter's NES and though the game was really cool. When my brother and I bought our NES around 1988, I played the game religiously.

To this day, I still love the 2D Mario games, but I haven't been impressed with any of the 3D Mario games.
