I don't know what the developers were thinking with this uninspired game. Probably something along the lines of, "Hey, what if we took away Kirby's ability to steal powers from the monsters he eats and then made the game only four levels long! Wouldn't that be great?" No. No, it did not make the game great. I was surprised when I beat the game in a single sitting. Sure, it's for kids, but kids deserve better. What was really going on in the developers head's was probably something more along the lines of, the higher-ups are demanding a new Kirby game with less ROM space and a terribly low budget, so let's slap something together really quick!

Status

Beat the game, no desire to ever play again.

Review

Overall: 1/10

Good

  • The graphics are nice and cute, just like other Kirby games.

Bad

  • The game is pretty easy. Even younger kids won't have too much difficulty beating it.

Ugly

  • Gone is Kirby's trademark ability to steal powers from monsters! What were they thinking?
  • At only four levels, the game is incredibly short, easily beatable in a single play-through, even with no prior knowledge of the series.
