Information, in a formal sense, is that which increases understanding. It is what allows a specific idea to be conveyed between two comprehending entities. Information is frequently apparent, although it can be obscured through encoding , hidden through encryption, and can not be information at all, but have the appearance of information (informationoid), like DNA.
