Here's to the Night is an alternative rock song by Eve 6 composed by Max Collins, Jon Siebels, and Tony Fagenson. It was first released as track 5 on the album Horrorscope on 2000-07-25, then released as a single on 2001-05-22 with B-sides of Inside Out, Tongue Tied, and a TLC cover of Waterfalls. A promotional single was also sent out to radio stations that included a call out hook for the song. An alternate rhythmic mix was also made.

Personal
While I don't remember when I first heard this song, I remember downloading the video using Kazaa and really enjoying it. The song is slower than most other Eve 6 songs and uses a string section to give it a much more melodious sound. Although it's fairly repetitious, it tells a bittersweet story of two lovers who are being separated because the man has to leave. Despite knowing that he has to go, he still wants to stay with the woman who he has fallen in love with and hates that he is being rational when he would prefer to give up his important business and just stay with her. I also like how the song calls out to everyone who has ever been faced with this situation, which I'm sure is a very frequent and painful thing for anyone with a career that requires a lot of traveling, like a musician.
Lyrics
So denied So I lied Are you the now or never kind? In a day And a day love I'm gonna be gone for good again Are you willing To be had? Are you cool With just tonight? Here's a toast To all those who hear me all too well Here's to the nights We felt alive Here's to the tears You knew you'd cry Here's to goodbye Tomorrow's gonna come too soon Put your name On the line Along with place and time Wanna stay Not to go I wanna ditch the logical Here's a toast To all those who hear me all too well Here's to the nights We felt alive Here's to the tears You knew you'd cry Here's to goodbye Tomorrow's gonna come too soon All my time is froze in motion Can't I stay an hour or two or more Don't let me let you go Don't let me let you go Here's a toast To all those who hear me all too well Here's to the nights We felt alive Here's to the tears You knew you'd cry Here's to goodbye Tomorrow's gonna come too soon Too soon Here's to the nights we felt alive Here's to the tears you knew you'd cry Here's to goodbye Tomorrow's gonna come too soon
