Frhed.

Frhed is a free open source hex editor written in C++. It can open large files, but it has terrible search capabilities.

Personal

I started using Frhed after looking for a replacement for XVI32, which couldn't handle large files. I used it for years, but because it has really weak searching capabilities, I would look for a replacement every so often. Eventually I found HxD, which had a lot more features and a great search, so I stopped using it.
