Editing a glyph in FontForge.

A font editor is a computer program that allows the user to view and edit fonts and typefaces.

Personal

I became interested in fonts at a young age, and, in my late teens I learned that it was possible to create fonts using Corel Draw. I didn't have much success with it, but I did find some free font editors which I used to make my own fonts. I now prefer FontForge.

Programs

Name Platforms Notes
FontForge Linux, Macintosh, Windows Free and powerful, but a terrible interface. My favorite.
Fony Windows Free. Only works with bitmap fonts.
Type Light Linux, Macintosh, Windows Free, but weak.
