Firecracker is the first solo album of Lisa Loeb to be published by a major label. The album was released on CD and vinyl on 1997-11-11. It was produced independently by Juan Patiño and Loeb. The songs are a mix of folk rock, pop, and alternative country. and include themes of love, relationships, breakups, and the music industry.

When I was 14-years-old, Lisa Loeb broke out with her single, Stay, in 1994. I thought her granny glasses were ridiculous and her song was pop trash. However, as I got older and my musical tastes broadened in the early 2000s, I began to re-listen to many of the songs I had mocked in my teens. Using Kazaa, I downloaded a bunch of Lisa Loeb songs and music videos, and started to appreciate them. Since this album contained most of my favorite songs of hers, it was the first one I bought.
