Comedy video game

Comedy, also known as a humor or satire, is a genre of video game designed to make the player laugh. This genre is not based around any specific mechanic, but rather a style of writing or situation. Most video game databases don't create a category for comedic games, which I find disappointing since comedy is such a prominent genre in most other forms of media and there really are a lot of comedy games worth playing.
Personal
From a young age, I have always liked comedy and find it to be one of my favorite genres of media. My comedic taste has matured over the years, replacing gross out humor and pratfalls with satire and clever jokes, but I still love to laugh. I had played a few games with humorous elements prior, but the first video game I ever remember playing that was clearly meant to be a comedy was Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge in the late-1980s, and I really loved all the jokes in it. Although comedy is a niche genre among video games, and many of those games intended to be comedic fail, I still really appreciate the ones that are made.
Games
This is a list of comedy video games that are important to me. For all games in this genre, see the comedy category.
