Personal
I first learned about Carl Sagan in middle school when one of my teachers showed us an except from Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. I thought his intonation was hilarious, but it was so memorable, it made me interested in what he was talking about. I has seen various clips from Cosmos later in school, sometimes on Nova, and much later on the Internet. I saw the film adaption of Contact not long after it came out, which I really enjoyed at the time, and that caused my to seek out the Cosmos series which I have since watched several times through. After finding Contact in hard cover for only a buck, I tried reading it and was surprised at how well-written it was. After that, I read several of Sagan's non-fiction books, and have enjoyed all of them.
