A Kind of Magic
A Kind of Magic is the twelfth studio album by Queen. It was released on 1986-06-03 on vinyl and produced by Queen, Reinhold Mack, and David Richards and published through EMI and Capitol. The album contains songs that range from arena rock to symphony rock to soul and doubles as a soundtrack for the movie Highlander, containing most of Queen's songs used in the film. This was also the first Queen album to be released on compact disc.
This is one of the first Queen albums I bought after becoming a fan of the movie Highlander, which I learned about initially from the television show. Though I bought the album initially for the heavy Highlander anthems, the more I listened to the album, the more I became enamored with the blue-eyed soul songs. I even chose the song One Year of Love for my bride and groom first dance song at my wedding.
