You must pilot the Axelay ship to stop the alien invaders from destroying your home world of Corliss. The game is a lot of fun, and interestingly combines subtle aspects of a fantasy RPG with a scrolling shooter. Music The music of Axelay is regarded by most to be in the upper echelons of SNES music. It is very creative and fits perfectly to the game's stages. Much like the game the music is themed for action and it has a lot of power and strength to it.
