Game

Few games cause a sensation, and even fewer embed themselves into a person's psyche. Tetris is one of those games that influences your dreams, your vision, the way you see the world. Have you ever dreamt about falling blocks? Do you want to figure out how to combine children's blocks in order to make them all fit without any gaps? This is the legacy of the most popular game ever to come out of Russia. Seven different blocks that form every possible configuration of a four square segment (provided they're touching) fall from the top of the screen at random intervals. You must spin the blocks in order to get them form lines at the bottom. If a line forms from one end to the other without a gap, the line is removed. If you fail to make lines and the blocks pile up to the top then you lose. Simple to learn, impossible to win, but forever worth playing.

Music

Nintendo put together some decent music for their version of Tetris. Music 1 is an arranged version of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairys" from "The Nutcracker Suite" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Music 2 has a nice traditional Russian sound to it. Music 3 is a very mellow tune. The music played after a Game B victory is "Toréador Song" from the opera "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. The rest of the audio is basically filler, as well as the two unknown tunes. Unknown 1 sounds like it was going to be introduction music, but it never gets played. Unknown 2 would work as a final victory for Game B at the hardest difficulty, but that is not the case.

Ripping

Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
