Game
Super Mario Bros. is a staple NES game. Officially, it sold more than any other game in history (if you include package deals as sales) and is most likely the first game played by a member of the NES generation.The premise is simple; the princess has been kidnapped by a giant reptile named Bowser, and you being the awesome plumber that you are must save her. This is a very early platformer, and it set the standard for many games that would come later.
Music
Super Mario Bros. music is fairly basic. Although due to the overwelming popularity of the game, everyone and their mom remembers the primative tunes.
It has become common knowledge that although he is not credited in the game, Koji Kondo composed the music for SMB. Also, he is listed as the composer on the Famicom 20th Anniversary Original Sound Tracks Vol. 1 album. This is where the track names come from.
Ripping
Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
There is an unused track in Super Mario Bros. which is just a more boring version of the Game Over fanfare.
