Game
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is similar to the first Sonic the Hedgehog. You play Sonic, and you must race through the various zones trying to rescue small woodland creatures from the evil Dr. Robotnik. However, in Sonic 2, you have the help of your trusty dual-tailed fox, Tails. The normal single player mode is just like before, but the 2 player mode allows you to play the stage split-screen with your friend to see who can finish the stage first. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is one of the highest rated games for the Genesis, but it's also one of the highest rated games of all time.
Music
While the game itself receives excellent marks, the music doesn't quite live up to its name. Granted, all of the music in the game is good, but unlike the first Sonic the Hedgehog, none of it really stands out as special. Regardless, you'll probably want to have this soundtrack in your playlist, especially if you're a fan of the game.
Ripping
Ripping Genesis music is a time consuming process that is beyond the scope of this site.
