Game
Soldat is a unique 2D action shooter in which your objective is simply to kill everything that moves. Although the plot is uninspired, the game is amazingly addictive. You chose from several weapons, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, to slay your opponents--whether they are computer controlled or friends across the network. There are multiple in-game variants including deathmatch, capture the flag, team matches, and several other unique games. Although the games can be tailored to any length, the pace of the game play is extremely rapid. Soldat is one of the most popular home-brew games in quite some time.
Music
Soldat has a small, yet fitting soundtrack. To cater to the many players who delight in deathmatch killings, the soundtrack is metal/grind/thrash, pick your name. Three tracks of rapid drum beats and screaming guitars are lovingly composed by Marshall Anderson. Older versions of Soldat included a title music track by Michal Marcinkowski, but it is no longer played in the game (although it is still distributed). Also, for those registered fans who prefer their own music to kill by, Soldat allows you to setup your own MP3 playlist.
Ripping
Soldat's music files are located in the .\Sfx\Modules folder. They were recorded using Winamp's Module Decoder plugin.
