Game

SIM City Classic took the cherished SIM game and converted it into a Windows program. A couple of changes were made in the port. The interface became more standardized, digital music and sound was added, and some of the bugs in the original version were fixed. However, the color palette became the dull Windows set, and a couple of new bugs were introduced. Over all, with the addition of multiple tile sets and various other improvements, the quality of the game improved.

Music

Only one music track was made for SIM City Classic, which is rather disappointing, but since the game is merely a port, you can't expect too much. The music plays on repeat in the background and is nice at first, but eventually becomes old hat. If you've heard the music from the other Maxis games, you'll recognize the style of the music.

Ripping

The music file, along with all the sound effects, are located in the .\Sounds folder in the root install path. The type 1 MIDI was recorded using Winamp.
