Game
Rampage is an interesting game where you get to play the bad guy for a change. You control one of the mutated scientists who is on a rampage of destruction across the United States. The NES port had some improvements over the arcade classic, but also gave the player unlimited lives taking away the real sense of accomplishment the game had. Instead of trying to get a high score, you basically just mash buttons for over two hours until you beat the game. The NES also removed Ralph, the wolfman. Regardless, you still get to destroy buildings, eat sexy women, and knock helicopters out of the sky while trying to also beat the crap out of your friend. Good clean family entertainment.
Music
The NES ported music to Rampage is very dull; it's basically just a monotonous background noise, although the map tune is kind of catchy. The NES port credits the original music to Bally, but the arcade game doesn't actually have music in it. It is possible that the music was ported over from a computer version of the game. The credits for the arrangers are used in the list. Also, the game only has five tunes total, and only three of them are actually used. There are two sections without music, the title and the credits, which could have benefited with the music, but Data East left it out.
Ripping
Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
