Reviews
Game
Rad Racer is a racing game for the NES similar to Sega's Out Run. You drive either a Ferrari 328 or an F1 racing machine through eight courses around the world. As you progress through the courses they become more difficult and the competing drivers become harder to pass. While it brought nothing new to the concept of racing games, Rad Racer did bring a decent racing game to the NES, which desperately needed one.
Music
Rad Racer's music is not impressive. You can change through the three radio stations by pressing down on the controller, but each song is rather uninspired, and most players tend to leave the radio off. Aside from the two fanfares, the only other music is the ending, which few players ever reach. There's a loud pop at the end of the ending track, which may be there on purpose, or a coding error. It's quite amazing to think that a mere four months later, Final Fantasy would be released with it's amazing soundtrack by the same composer.
Ripping
Ripping NES music is a very arduous process that is beyond the scope of this site.
