Game
Nintendo out did itself with the third Zelda. Amazing game play, stunning graphics and music, and an epic story. Returning to their roots with the top-down perspective, you control Link as he fights through the evil Gannon's minions to try and rescue the Princess Zelda. Unlike the first two games where Link is a a little older, A Link to the Past tells the story of Link as a younger hero who still lives with his uncle.
The game is obviously a successor to the Zelda series. There is a Master Sword, a magic shield, bombs, arrows, rubies, octarocks, molblins, and all the other things you've come to expect from Zelda, but it also adds plenty of new monsters and items as well. There is also enough hidden in the game to keep you occupied for a long time, just don't ruin the adventure by cheating.
Music
The quality of game music took a huge step forward past the previous two games. Stereo sound, a grand orchestra quality, and plenty of fascinating tunes made the soundtrack as epic as the game. The tempos and timbres are all over the place from the soothing instruments of Kakariko Village to the epic sound of the Dark World contrasted with the curiousness of the Forest. Koji Kondo is nothing short of amazing on this soundtrack.
Ripping
Ripping SNES music is a very complex process that is beyond the scope of this site.
