Game
Where In the World Is Carmen Sandeigo? is one of the more famous early learning games. You play an ACME agent trying to track down a V.I.L.E. thief who has stolen an important artifact from a city in the world. The city is chosen at random and artifact is apropriate to the city that it was taken from. You are given clues about the theif, as well as the location that they escaped to. This will put you on a chase where you must use the clues that witnesses give you with your trusty world almanac to figure out where the thief has gone. The game teaches children about geography and cultures around the world as they play.
Music
The game music is mostly some short AdLib fanfares that are played when the player nears the criminal. While they're not spectacular, they get the job done by inducing mood.
Ripping
The type 1 MIDI files were ripped from the MIDISnd.DAT file located in the root of the install path. The beginning of the file contains the offsets to the contained individual files. However, the music is played using Adlib's OPL. There won't be a Vorbis recording until the instrument definitions are ripped.
