Audio (*.aud)
Description
AUD (assumingly stands for audio) is an audio compression format used heavily by Westwood Studios in the late 1990's. It takes raw 16-bit pulse-code modulation audio data and compresses it using the lossless IMA-ADPCM algorithm which can be likened to FLAC. An AUD decoder used to be part of Winamp's built in waveform plugin, but it was recently removed. Luckily, there is a Winamp plug-in to play the files in their native form as well as converters to convert the format to WAV.
