 Description
7z is a compressed file using the 7-zip architecture. The VGMPF uses 7z compression for certain file collections because of its high compression ratio which on average is higher than ZIP and RAR formats, but more importantly because it is open source and patent free. To decompress a 7z file download the latest 7-zip program. You'll find that 7-zip not only supports more archiving formats that WinZip, WinRar, or WinAce, but it also compresses better them as well.
