弘田 佳孝 [Yoshitaka Hirota]

Yoshitaka Hirota was born on September 1st, 1971 in Kyoto, Japan. Hirota graduated from a Junior Music College and then began his audio career at Squaresoft as a sound designer in 199X. While he was making sound effects for Square, he was also playing bass in a punk band, and DJing at night clubs.
When Hiroki Kikuta went to form Sacnoth in 1998, Hirota left Squaresoft to go with him. There he continued making sound effects, but finally got to compose music for the game Bomberman 64: The Second Attack, and later on the Shadow Hearts series.
Hirota has been friends with Yasunori Mitsuda since they were children and the two have collabarated on several games, as well as albums. His musical influences includes traditional Asian music, and the French composer Erik Satie, but also punk and rock bands like The Clash and David Bowie. Outside of music, Hirota enjoys playing with his pets, walking, and surfing the Web.
Hirota continues to compose music for videogames, although now he also releases non-videogame music from his company, Twin Tail Studio.
