2006/12/12 |
The soundtrack for Icarus: Sanctuary of the Gods has been re-encoded and renamed to the new conventions. Several other sites have been updated to the new template as well. |
2006/11/29 |
The NES port of Marble Madness is now online. I've also added a new list for unknown composers in order to be able to quickly reference all the games that still need reserach done. I've also added a page for Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix. It's too new to have music, but the layout is all there. There are also several more games listed under Akito Nakatsuka. |
2006/11/28 |
We have reached our goal of over 2000 ripped tracks before 2007. The game that put us over the mark is the NES version of Super Mario Bros., one of the most well known soundtracks in the entire history of videogame music. |
2006/11/27 |
The soundtrack to the game Torus Trooper, another one of Kenta Cho's designs, has been added. |

Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest is now up with the full soundtrack. A page for Kenichi Matsubara--one of its composers--is also up. This site is almost at 2,000 ripped tracks, and here I was wondering if I'd make 1,000 Vorbis files before 2007, ha! |
2006/10/27 |
The soundtrack to Dungeon Hack is now online. There are also two new composers, Anthony Mollick and James McMenamy. |
2006/10/26 |
The latest soundtrack addition is for the game Cannon Fodder 2. Also, since the game's music is in a new format, we've added the a page for the AMF tracked format. Also, the game's composers, Richard Joseph and Jon Hare, now have pages as well. |
2006/10/24 |
TUMIKI Fighters is the latest soundtrack to be added. It's another one of Kenta Cho's shumps. I also re-encoded and renamed Sieklus's music and converted the page to the new layout. For every game that has a free download available, I've added a Download button instead of a Buy button. Also, I need to clarify that the ten year waiting period only applies to copyrighted games. Public Domain and Freeware games will be released regardless of their publication date. |
2006/10/23 |
The sequel to Contra, Super C has been placed online. Hear the music of one of the best 8-bit platform shooters and relive the past. If I'm able to keep this posting rate up, we may reach 2000 ripped tracks before 2007. Also, from this point on I'm not going to release a game's soundtrack unless it is at least ten years old. Because this site is built for preservation and not pirating, I want to make an age distinction. I feel that ten years is an adequate amount of time to release a soundtrack publicly. By that time, even if the game did have a soundtrack available, it's been years since it was last published. There are a couple of games on this site that are less than ten years old, and they will remain, but in a few years they will fall under this cut-off point as well. |
2006/10/20 |

I converted the Age of Empires tracks to follow their proper numbers and reencoded them. I've also decided to do a layout change to the game pages. I've added wider margins and boxed off all the groups in order to make the pages easier to read. You can see the new layout on The 7th Guest. |
2006/10/17 |
The soundtrack to Dracula In London is now online. Also, a page has been made for Scott Laytham the game's composer. |
2006/10/16 |

2006/10/13 |
One of the most popular FPS, Half-Life, now has it's soundtrack available for download. There is also a page for the music's composer Kelly Bailey. With this addition we're just 4 songs short of our 1,000 Vorbis files goal. I also put letter separators on the composer page instead of just having it be one long list. I also renamed Blake Stone 1 and 2. |
2006/10/12 |
The soundtrack to one of Kenta Cho's earliest games, Wok, is now online. I've also renamed the files for DUNE 2000, SIM City 2000, and Spear of Destiny. |
2006/10/11 |
The music from the Nintendo version of Tetris is up. That's for NES by NES, not the Tengen or BPS versions. We're currently a mere 33 songs away from reaching our 2006 goal of 1000 Vorbis tracks. |
2006/10/10 |
In order to match up to a common system of storing albums and music tracks, I'm going through my older song sets and renaming them (Track) - (Title). The folder that they should be extracted into should be (Game) - (Platform). By doing this it will make storing large quantities of albums much cleaner and also remove redundant data. I've currently reset Contra, Corridor 7, The Goonies II, Kung Fu, and Ultima: Underworld. Also, I'm going to start including the full audio credits of a game, not just the music composition. This will make the entries more complete because a lot of composers also do sound effects and sound programming. The template for every game has been updated, and several of them now contain the game's full audio credits. The rest will appear as I get the information. |
2006/10/05 |
Kenta Cho's soundtrack for Noiz2sa is now online. |

A new soundtrack is online. Devil World, for the Famicom is up. The list of games that a composer has written music for used to be sorted in alphabetical order of the game's title. I've decided to change this to now sort in the order that the games were released. By using chronological order, you will have a better view of the evolution of a composer's music. I've also decided to include the development studio that the composer worked with for the game. This new layout has been completed for these composers: Akito Nakatsuka, Atsushi Fujio, Bobby Prince, Brian Conrad, and Dan Schmidt. |
2006/08/18 |

2006/08/04 |
