Zombies are soulless corpses that are animated by dark magic. These undead abominations act as slaves controlled by the one who created and
are used to perform the evil bidding of their masters.
Because zombies are the walking dead their bodies are made of their own decomposing flesh which would cause horrific stench and flies where
ever they are, a truly putrid creation.
Historically, zombies come from practitioners of voodoo magic, and are very real. This west African religion uses many different methods of
creating magic. Some of these methods use drugs and various other poisons.
The creation of a zombie is done by using the extremely potent toxins of the puffer fish among others. This mixture of poisons is
administered to its victims in small doses causing full body paralysis and amnesia. An outside viewer would see the person as dead, but the the
paralysis wears off after 10 hours.
Once the person wakes up from the first set of poisons, another set of hallucinogens is given to cause irreparable damage to the brain. This
forces the person to behave like a "zombie" because their higher brain functions have been destroyed.
The overall process as seen from an outsider is that a person is killed, and their body is indeed dead. Then, the next day they are walking
around again unable to talk or solve problems, but still able to perform basic tasks. In actuality the person never died, they were just
poisoned an inch from death. A truly grizzly fate.
Of course, the media has picked up on the zombie as a monster seen in movies like "The Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead". They
show the horrors of a Hollywood zombie, which actually pales in comparison the the terrifying reality of a real zombie.
