The Ultimate Doom was a recompile of the original Doom's source with bug fixes and what not, but it also included a full new episode with extremely difficult levels.

Little has been changed in the way of multiplayer though. Still only IPX, still only 4 players. However, the multiplayer would later be updated with Doom 95
