The Transformers began as a couple groups of Japanese toys that were capable of transforming from vehicles and machines into mecha (robots). Hasbro released an American version by combining the groups and re-branding them with the Transformers name. This spawned the comic book series and, of course, the animated TV series. Several spin-offs have been made since then including Generation 2 and Beast Wars. Individual Fonts Beast Wars Neale Davidson created the Beast Wars font in order to replicate the typeset used for the logo in the Transformers spin-off of the same name.
