Judo (which means "the way of flexibility") is a sport that originated in Japan in the late 1800's and was developed by Kano Jigori. It is a soft style of combat meaning it doesn't utilize strikes or kicks. Instead it uses grappling, holds, and throws to function. The main principle of judo is to use your opponent's momentum against them.

The sport of judo comes from the deadly martial art of jujutsu. Ever since the 1964, judo has been an event in the Olympic Games.
