Cain's wife, from Genesis 4:17 is a mystery—she isn't named, she doesn't have a back story, and there are conflicting ideas about her origin.

Cain's wife could be his sister. The book of Jubilees (a non-canon book) says that after Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel, she then had a daughter named Awan who would later become Cain's wife. This begs the question, how did they marry? Cain is off in the land of Nod, while Awan should be at home doing everything man tells her to do. Why would she leave to Nod, a place where God's presence can't be found? Did she run away because Adam was touching her in her bathing-suit area? Perhaps she and Cain were married prior to him murdering his brother, and she just left with him. If that's the case, I can understand why the bible omitted mentioning this, because it's terrible that she'd have to wander as a fugitive because of her stupid brother/husband's mistake. If that is actually how the story is supposed to be told, then it brings up a wonderful sound bite, "The family that plays together, stays together."

A different theory says that Cain took one of the Nephilim for his wife. Nephilim can be viewed as "fallen angels", and they will be discussed in more detail later.

The Pre-Adamites theorize that the two creations from Genesis 1 and 2 were actually two different creations of people. Since the first couple isn't actually named, they could be a totally separate lineage and Cain could have married one of their offspring.

God could have also created another wife by pulling her out of Cain's ribs, but there's no mention of this in any text that I'm aware of.

Joseph Smith (founder of the Mormons) claimed that Cain married one of his nieces, but he didn't specify which one.

Who isn't, Uncle Jellyfish... who isn't?

Well, if you just look at what is included in the book, the wife literally comes out of nowhere. The only people named and/or alluded to are Adam, Eve, Cain and Able. And now Able is gone. That leave one and only one female who could have been the wife. M*****F*****! Now going non-canon, you still have Eve and Awan as the only possible choices. When your gene pool is the size of a cup, you have problems. Which could explain many things, but that would be rather catty. As for nieces, wouldn't that mean that Adam and Eve had brothers and sisters (at least one of each) for there to be nieces? I'll go for other gods creating other peoples in other lands, and one of the rejects finding their way into Cain's household. Being not of God's personal creations, of course she wouldn't be named. Its a God contest as to who can create the best people! And like 'The Weakest Link' the best have no chance of winning because the mediocre gang up against them.

So that's five miso soup four seaweed salad three soyburger dinner two tofu dog platter and one pasta with meatless balls!

No, Baughbe, Cain's niece would be Abel's daughter. Did Abel have a wife? And if so, where did she come from?

I think TheAlmightyGuru just likes drawing stick people having sex. They must have all liked it from behind in the bible days.

What happened to misionary style sex strictly for the sake of reproduction?

TheAlmightyGuru writes:

Baughbe: All the early stories in Genesis appear to jump around in time. In Genesis 5:4, the bible mentions that Adam and Eve had "sons and daughters". The apologists will mention that it's possible that Cain married a sister before killing Abel (even though the bible is silent on the whole issue).

Beau: Ew! / It tastes the same. / If you close your eyes!

rimecuka: Missionary position isn't nearly as funny looking as doggy style.

Maybe there were other people (another creation by another god?) in the land of Nod.
